Compensation Designed for a Career
We believe professional painters deserve more than a job, they deserve an opportunity to build a career. TEI’s compensation philosophy is designed to reward skill, performance, responsibility and growth, with the goal of providing professional painters with an income that supports long-term financial stability and, where their personal financial circumstances allow, meaningful progress toward home ownership and other life goals.
The TEI Living Wage Philosophy
We believe a professional painter should be able to support themselves and, where applicable, their family through their work.
Our long-term goal is to develop compensation levels that provide experienced TEI professionals with the earning opportunity to build a stable life, including the ability to save for retirement, maintain reliable transportation, enjoy time away from work, manage the costs of home ownership or housing, and prepare for the future.
We call this our TEI Living Wage Philosophy.
Mortgage approval is never guaranteed by an employer. Credit history, existing debt, down payment, lender requirements and other personal circumstances all affect an individual’s ability to qualify. TEI’s responsibility is to create the earning opportunity; each employee’s personal financial circumstances remain their own.

TEI Employees Can Help Create Opportunities Too
At TEI Painters, everyone plays a role in building the company.
Our Sales Professionals are responsible for selling and documenting projects. Our painters are responsible for delivering the work and identifying legitimate opportunities that may arise while working with homeowners.
When a TEI employee identifies additional qualifying painting work, TEI may provide an Opportunity Bonus in accordance with the company’s compensation program.
The TEI Manifesto
We believe professional painters deserve professional careers.
We believe homeowners deserve craftsmanship they can trust.
We believe preparation is the foundation of every exceptional finish.
We believe that when we invest in our team, our team invests in our clients.
We believe every project should be Done Right the First Time.
Residential Painting Sales Professional
TEI Painters is building a professional sales organization to serve homeowners throughout the Niagara Region. Our Sales Professionals are responsible for creating the opportunities that allow our painters to do what they do best: deliver exceptional interior painting.
About the Role
You will meet with homeowners in their homes, understand their goals, assess their painting projects and present TEI’s services with professionalism and confidence.
You represent TEI before a single brush stroke touches the wall. The homeowner’s experience with you should reflect the same standards of communication, respect and professionalism they can expect from our production team.
This is a consultative sales role, not a high-pressure sales position. We listen first, understand the project and then present the right solution.
What You’ll Do
✅ Conduct in-home consultations throughout the Niagara Region
✅ Understand homeowner goals, timelines and expectations
✅ Assess project scope, surfaces, condition and complexity
✅ Prepare accurate, detailed estimates and proposals
✅ Explain TEI’s preparation, materials and painting process
✅ Communicate the value of professional workmanship, not simply the price
✅ Follow up with prospects professionally and consistently
✅ Maintain an organized sales pipeline and accurate records
✅ Close profitable projects that are a genuine fit for TEI
✅ Provide complete project information to the operations team
✅ Represent TEI with honesty, professionalism and integrity
What We’re Looking For
✅ We’re looking for confident, ethical and motivated sales professionals who enjoy meeting homeowners, understanding their needs and helping them make informed decisions.
✅ Previous experience in in-home or residential sales is an asset. Experience in HVAC, windows and doors, roofing, renovation, construction or other home improvement industries can translate particularly well.
✅ What matters most is your ability to communicate, listen, follow through, stay organized, build trust and consistently produce results.
✅ A valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle are required.
How We Sell
TEI is not built to compete by being the cheapest painting company in the Niagara Region.
Our Sales Professionals are trained to communicate the value of proper preparation, professional craftsmanship, protection of the homeowner’s property, premium materials, clear communication and the TEI Standard.
The objective is never to pressure a homeowner into work they don’t need. It is to sell the right solution, at a fair and profitable price, to a homeowner who understands what they are purchasing.
If a homeowner chooses another company, that is their decision. We want every homeowner who meets with TEI to leave the conversation feeling respected, informed and confident in their decision.
Professional Compensation
TEI believes professional Sales Professionals deserve professional earning potential.
This is a commission-based position with uncapped earning potential. Compensation is tied to profitable work that is sold and successfully collected.
The more value you create for TEI and its clients, the more opportunity you have to earn.
Specific commission structure, performance expectations and targets will be discussed during the interview process.
Build a Sales Career at TEI
TEI is building more than individual sales positions. We are building a professional sales organization with documented processes, structured training, coaching and measurable performance standards.
As TEI grows, successful Sales Professionals can advance into roles such as:
Sales Professional → Senior Sales Professional → Sales Trainer → Sales Manager → Leadership & Operations
Career advancement is earned through performance, professionalism, leadership and the ability to help others succeed.
A Sales System Built to Scale
TEI is developing documented sales processes, proposal standards, follow-up procedures, training systems and performance measurements so our sales organization can grow without sacrificing consistency, profitability or the homeowner experience.
We believe talented Sales Professionals should have both the opportunity to perform and the systems necessary to succeed.
Ready to Build Something Real?
If you’re an experienced Sales Professional who is motivated by performance, enjoys working with homeowners and wants uncapped earning potential within a growing professional company, we’d like to hear from you.
